I Heart New York

Just returned from a trip back east. Raul and I attended tennis camp in the Catskill Mountains. It was like boot camp for tennis players. Lots of fun and I learned a few things, too. It's a good warm up to play tennis again, since I recently joined a tennis league here in LA.

We continued on upstate to visit with my mother and step-father for a few days. My mom's garden looks amazing. It was nice to be back home and recover from tennis. Talk about sore legs! Even after a massage at the camp's spa, I was still stiff.

Then, we returned to the city, where I reunited with old friends and paid a visit to my former place of employment, Goldman Sachs. It was great to see everyone. I especially enjoyed the fierce thunderstorm that passed through town, too. Something I don't see anymore living on the west coast.

All in all it was a great trip. However, it reminded me of how much I enjoy California, if not for the weather. Manhattan was so muggy! Though, oddly enough, LA is actually humid today. What's that about? Anyway, it's good to be back. Now, I need to get back to work on revising my script. The producers sent me notes while I was away. So it's back to the grind.

Grrrrr

For lack of a better title. I can't believe it's almost been a month since my last post. Since then, I had a horrible cold; wrote an outline for a new spec; attended a wedding in Chicago; attended a friend's CD release party and filmed his music video around LA and in San Francisco; and met with my producers to receive notes on my finished script; not to mention, experienced drama with my family in Chicago and Raul's family in Puerto Rico (his younger brother dropped dead of a heart attack).

And, oh yeah, the point of this posting was to question Pirates 2 box office bonanza. Tried to see SUPERMAN RETURNS last night (a Monday night) and it was sold out. HOWEVER, PIRATES 2 WAS NOT. Hmm, you'd think if it really raked in $135 million over the weekend that Monday night would do boffo box office, too. But Superman was the one doing all the business. What's that about? I smell something fishy in Hollyweird .....
