Can I Scream Now Or Later?

So I'm looking over Elston Gunn's weekly recap at Ain't It Cool News of new movie projects in the works, and what should I see? The exact same movie I have been toiling away on for the past three months, with the exact same title and the exact same premise, which has been purchased by a major studio for a sitcom star to headline!!! WTF?! I had just passed the script over to my co-writer to finish it up and now THIS! I'm so disgusted!! Perhaps, the only saving grace is it was a pitch and there is no writer attached ... yet.

So this is the plan: my co-writer and I are going to place a conference call to the agent we have access to and command him to send our script to the producer and star for consideration. We probably don't have a snow balls chance in hell -- but you never know. Stranger things have happened.

Now, on to the good news. My romcom was selected for the Romantic Comedy Pro Development Seminar at The Writer's Building (www.thewritersbuilding.org). It will be analyzed -- for free -- by a professional analyst. What a fricken day!
